Gulnara Ivanova is a film director and screenwriter from Tashkent. She works in narrative film and runs the WORKMANSHIP Production studio.

Biography
Gulnara came to film from journalism, starting out at the Reporter studio. She studied directing and cinematography in Tashkent, then at VGIK, where she earned her diploma: digital cinema directing and a master's degree in screenwriting.
Her first festival selections came with the short films Kinship (2017) and Fountain (2019): Fountain won the Jury Award for Excellence in Storytelling at Côte d'Azur WebFest in Cannes. The drama Dispute took the Grand Prix at ISCA in Japan and Best Student Film at The Grand BIFF.
Stephen King granted her the rights to adapt his short story “The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands” through the Dollar Baby program. The result is the thriller One Touch, named Best Thriller at the Nitiin International Film Festival.
Today Gulnara is a resident of Uzbekistan Creative Park and the founder of WORKMANSHIP Production, where she makes films, music videos and commercials. Her debut feature is Open Eyes, based on a short story by O. Henry.
